Moullinex returns with his new single 'Running in The Dark'. The first glimpse of his newest album set for release early next year. This beautifully crafted piece of melancholia again features frequent collaborator GPU Panic.
Written during a period of personal loss and uncertainty 'Running in the Dark' signals a sidestep in the sonic palette created by Moullinex over the years, reflective, hopeful and soaked in groove. Field recordings of child’s play, the gentle plucks of a West African Kora and GPU Panic’s dreamy vocals are juxtaposed with dirty breaks and arpeggiated bass lines to create the ultimate musical chiaroscuro that perfectly represents Moullinex’ darker yet hopeful side.
Always thriving in collaboration, the new Moullinex record was mixed by David Wrench (Caribou, Frank Ocean, The XX) with it’s artwork designed by Bráulio Amado exploring shadow play in both photography and 3D art.
